Tottenham have yet to sign a new contract for Alderweireld
Toby Alderweireld revealed to the media that he was happy with Tottenham Hotspur but admitted he has not received any new contract offer to date.
Alderweireld, 28, is a Spurs core player who has not received a contract extension for the last 18 months, and in July he said there has been no progress in his contract negotiations that will expire in 2019.
But Alderweireld insists he is happy to play for The Lilywhites and expressed his commitment to talk to coach Mauricio Pocchetino in the near future.
“I talked to the manager,” the player said.
“I say that I focus on football, to keep growing and helping the team. That’s what I can do. You can see I’m happy and can help the team, that’s how I play football. ”
When asked about the new contract from Spurs, he replied, “No, as I said, I focus on football. The rest we’ll see. “
